Aircol SN 68 and 100 are diester based synthetic lubricants with excellent oxidation resistance and low carbon-forming tendency.

Castrol Aircol SN combines excellent protection, long life and cleanliness in operation to provide the following key benefits:

  • Low carbon forming tendency giving longer valve life, longer intervals between cylinder head overhauls and greater reliability when operating at high discharge temperatures.
  • Improved lubricity and film strength minimises cylinder and ring wear and also improves air quality by allowing feed rates to be reduced without detrimental results.
  • Reduced compressor down time due to less wear on all moving parts, longer machine life and reduced maintenance.

Aircol SN 68 and 100 were developed to cope with the severe operating conditions experienced in reciprocating air compressors operating at high compression ratios and high discharge temperatures of up to 220 deg C. Under these conditions, Aircol SN 68 and 100 offer a much reduced carbon forming tendency and extended oil life when compared to mineral oil. Whilst Aircol SN 68 was primarily intended for the use in reciprocating air compressors, it may also be used in certain types of turbocharger, where it will provide significant in-service benefits when compared with mineral based lubricants.
